Makeup Geek Duochromes Review & Swatches

Makeup Geek Duochromes launched last week! Of course I had to get my hands on some of them.
If you don't already know, Makeup Geek is one of my favorite brands considering their amazing quality and prices!
This line of shadows and pigments are called duochromes because they reflect two different colors, some of them reflect even more.
I purchased 3 pigments and 6 single shadows.
Pigments $12              Eyeshadows $6
Scroll to bottom for review

I'll start with my FAVORITE pigment, Hologram! Yes, it has a crack in it :( I'm not sure when it happened but I am hoping it won't completely break open!
"Orangey-pink base with green and gold reflects"
**Update: I emailed Makeup Geek Customer Service and they will be sending me an empty replacement jar when they receive the new and improved ones. They have great customer service!

Next is Sugar Rush. I was stunned when I swatched this one.. You will see!
"Translucent base with icy blue and purple reflects"
This is Chameleon. Teal is my favorite color :)
"Deep teal base with gold reflects"
Cue the music. Aren't they stunning?! I own two other Makeup Geek Pigments and I can tell you, they are all so beautiful. Not only that but pigments will last a very long time. It only take a tiny amount of the pigment for it to show up like this!
I have to own the rest of these..

"Vanilla base with champagne-yellow reflects"

"Apricot base with orchid reflects"

"Electric purple base with icy blue reflects"

"Deep espresso base with bright teal reflects"

"Deep teal base with green and gold reflects"

"Warm red-brown base with teal reflects"

Pictures above were taken in natural lighting, no primer!

Picture above taken with the flash on! So majestic...

Dr. Bronners Soap: Magical Makeup Brush Cleaner

Happy Saturday!
Okay, I just cleaned my brushes today using this Dr. Bronner's Pure-Castile Soap and I was amazed. A while back, Samantha from Batalash recommended this as a makeup brush cleaner. When I saw it in Fred Meyer I HAD to get some!
The price is just $3-5 for 5 oz.

There are 8 scents available- peppermint, almond, unscented, citrus, eucalyptus, lavender, rose, and tea tree.

My makeup brushes haven't been this clean in months! It took me half the time it normally does to clean all of them. This soap is very effective.. It easily removes makeup from brushes. Plus it smells great! This soap is also great for cleaning your makeup sponges. I used it to clean my Beauty Blender!
I did use a shampoo afterward to soften the brush hairs because they kind of had that sticky soap feeling.

I just wet the brush and ran over soap in circular motions a few times, then rinsed.

This soap is made with organic oils and is certified fair trade.

Look how white, clean, & fluffy they are!!
So, there you have it. I was so excited I immediately had to blog about it and tell all of you :)
Next time I clean my brushes I will try to have someone film the magic.

Loreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation Review

I've been wanting to do this blog post for so long now and just haven't had the time. I've been using the L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte foundation for months now. This is my ABSOLUTE favorite foundation thus far. Beyond any high-end foundation I've tried, this truly stays on my face and doesn't break up throughout the day. I have pretty oily skin with some acne scarring. The cost is around $12-13 at Ulta and WalMart.
PROS:
Coverage- medium but buildable
Long wearing (my days start at 6am and end at 11pm, wears well all day)
Doesn't break up
Finish- matte without looking too flat
Oil control
Price
Quantity
Availability of shades
Packaging (nice for travel/ tubes are more sanitary)

CONS:
Applies best with Beauty Blender for me
Can look cakey if you apply too much
Can look streaky when applied with a brush
Price for drugstore (it's worth every penny..)

There you have it :) I would definitely recommend this foundation. Here is a photo of me wearing it.
